My Art Workshop: A Little Update

I’ve been focused on these dahlia paintings and I finished the second one. I learn a little more with each painting and so they are evolving as I go along from one painting to the next. This time, these are not going to be shown until further down the road. I haven’t decided when, but a celebration might be in order!

I’ve haven’t worked this intensely on my artistic development since art school.  It’s difficult, but I’m am trying to create a routine. I think that is going to help me stay focused on what I need to do. I have been still steadily at work on these paintings over the past few days.

About Rachel Heu

"Creativity is an act of defiance. You're challenging the status quo. You're questioning accepted truths and principles. You're asking three universal questions that mock conventional wisdom: Why do I have to obey the rules? Why can't I be different? Why can't I do it my way?" --Twyla Tharp, The Creative Habit: Learn It and Use It For Life (pg. 133)

Your dahlia paintings are exceptional. It’s mind boggling to think of all the detail put into each of them. I’d say you are on the right track baby!

  2. I’m so glad you have the time to focus on your art.
