Word Art: Build

35 Words, The word "Build"

b u i l d

Colorful 3″x5″ collage, colored pencil, and marker of the word: Build. (Bear with me on this one– my feedback crew has told me that it’s hard to read– so I’ll explain. Thread plus bobbin equals the “b”, necklace on dressform is the “u”, needle is the “i”, measuring tape is the “l”, and the rotary tool is the “d”. If you have a seamstress in your life, s/he will probably see it.) This is one of my favorite cards because I love to build things, specifically, I like to sew– so I made the word, Build, out of sewing tools to celebrate that fact.

About Rachel Heu

"Creativity is an act of defiance. You're challenging the status quo. You're questioning accepted truths and principles. You're asking three universal questions that mock conventional wisdom: Why do I have to obey the rules? Why can't I be different? Why can't I do it my way?" --Twyla Tharp, The Creative Habit: Learn It and Use It For Life (pg. 133)

  1. This one is, by far, my favorite of all your lovely words.
