My 35 Words: Freedom

I am free today to follow my own truth– and isn’t that an awesome feeling? “Freedom” was the first word card that I made when I started this project of My 35 Words. It might be more important to me than all of the other words. I choose my own fate and choose my own responsibilities.

My 35 Words: Freedom

3″x5″ illustration from my word art: 35 Words, the word, Freedom. Media: marker, colored pencil. (In case you haven’t read my other posts yet on my blog– this piece has symbolism– whirls and swirls mean freedom and energy to me– the fleur de lis is was the symbol for the 6th born, found on crests, in The Middle Ages– I’m the 6th out of 8.)

About Rachel Heu

"Creativity is an act of defiance. You're challenging the status quo. You're questioning accepted truths and principles. You're asking three universal questions that mock conventional wisdom: Why do I have to obey the rules? Why can't I be different? Why can't I do it my way?" --Twyla Tharp, The Creative Habit: Learn It and Use It For Life (pg. 133)
