Sketch Diaries: Angel’s Trumpet

I was at the green house in Seattle’s Capital Hill neighborhood near The Asian Art Museum, and this dramatic flower, Angels Trumpet, took my breath away! The flowers are about 9″ to 10″ long and they hang like delicate, pale pink bells. They are graceful and other-worldly. I had a great time sketching them! (I accidentally scratched the drawing because I made another on a sheet on top of these one… so I’m more careful how I set up my drawings now. Lesson learned.)

About Rachel Heu

"Creativity is an act of defiance. You're challenging the status quo. You're questioning accepted truths and principles. You're asking three universal questions that mock conventional wisdom: Why do I have to obey the rules? Why can't I be different? Why can't I do it my way?" --Twyla Tharp, The Creative Habit: Learn It and Use It For Life (pg. 133)
