My 35 Words: Metamorphose

Metamorphose.  This is a very special day because today, on,  I’m going to not only show you a piece of My 35 Words, but I also want to show you a little bit more than that. Below, you will find a series of 3 morpho butterflies that celebrate the same concept of dramatic change.

So, I pretty much have had a love affair with the Morpho Butterfly after the breath-taking one that I saw flying by, drenched in sunlight, in the magnificent jungle of Costa Rica a few years ago. I could never forget it. The way that it glistened in blue and green when it unfolded its delicate wings; the way the azure iridescence caught my eye from yards away. The Morpho Butterfly is a dramatic symbol of change… the short cycle of life for butterflies, but such a grand one. To look at one, at first, you could totally miss it because it just looks brown. It blends into trees, plants, and dirt… but the beauty of the metamorphosis as it gracefully launches into flight…

I love change and moving forward… that moment of promise…a fresh start!

About Rachel Heu

"Creativity is an act of defiance. You're challenging the status quo. You're questioning accepted truths and principles. You're asking three universal questions that mock conventional wisdom: Why do I have to obey the rules? Why can't I be different? Why can't I do it my way?" --Twyla Tharp, The Creative Habit: Learn It and Use It For Life (pg. 133)
