Unashamed Golden Sunflowers

When I’m working on my skills as an artist, sometimes it takes me some time to realize why a painting that I made didn’t quite work out and what I can do to change it; to move forward. One day, as I was staring at a ghost of what this painting would become I discovered something. What this painting needed was a bold layer of color over the whole thing– winter paler to vibrancy; cautious to unashamed.

About Rachel Heu

"Creativity is an act of defiance. You're challenging the status quo. You're questioning accepted truths and principles. You're asking three universal questions that mock conventional wisdom: Why do I have to obey the rules? Why can't I be different? Why can't I do it my way?" --Twyla Tharp, The Creative Habit: Learn It and Use It For Life (pg. 133)
