It’s not what you say; it’s how you say it.

Some favorite art from The Greats:

Joan Mitchell

Cy Twombly

Jean-Michel Basquiat

Joan Miro

I have a feed on Pinterest that’s a lot of fun with some contemporary painters: Leadfoot Leona: Art That I Love. I love the web. It can’t take the place of seeing the work in person, but it gives me the opportunity to see work I may never, otherwise, get to see. It gives me access to learning from the greats, no matter what my geography. I’m still plodding through Pictures of Nothing… Hope to write another article about it soon.

About Rachel Heu

"Creativity is an act of defiance. You're challenging the status quo. You're questioning accepted truths and principles. You're asking three universal questions that mock conventional wisdom: Why do I have to obey the rules? Why can't I be different? Why can't I do it my way?" --Twyla Tharp, The Creative Habit: Learn It and Use It For Life (pg. 133)
